5 Months!!

Andersen is 5 months old today! She is one active little girl. She constantly wants to be doing something and keeps us on our toes! Everything goes into her mouth and much to my frustration, she has found her thumb and LOVES it...even more than the pacifier I keep forcing in her mouth:) We keep thinking she will get teeth any day, but so far, nothing. She is rolling over all the time and continues to roll around the crib. She sleeps on her stomach now and slept in today...she made it to 7:15AM...that's pretty good since she was asleep at 6:30PM:) Andersen loves her exersaucer and has just in the last few days learned how to really jump in it - it makes her laugh - which is just adorable! She has the cutest laugh. She continues to pull her legs up and bury her head in hopes of crawling, but so far no luck, it is really starting to frustrate her! After a shaky/finicky start with rice cereal, she now loves it and eats the whole bowl! We will hopefully start baby food this weekend - I'm excited! That's the latest and greatest with us, hope all is well with you!

Mimi & Poppi Visit

Mimi & Poppi visited the first weekend in October! We had a great visit and enjoyed a ride into the mountains to see the Aspen trees changing - it was a beautiful day:)

Tampa & Franklin

We had a wonderful trip to Tampa & Franklin. Andersen did pretty well on the plane, she had a couple of cry outs, but nothing a bottle couldn't cure:) It was SO nice to have Grammie with us - I had no idea how hard it would be to travel with a 4 month old. The Tampa visit was a whirlwind and we were all exhausted, but it was so worth it and great to see family and friends. We are counting down the days till our next visit! Andersen started rice cereal while we were in Franklin and is really pushing up on her legs - hence the naked baby shot:) We also got together with the DC girls and their babies - all were born between Dec 2009 and July 2010! 4 Months

Andersen is 4 months old!! Today we went for her check-up. We LOVE our pediatrician and the office staff is wonderful. They all came by to admire our little cutie:) The doctor was impressed with her strength and she hit all her milestones. Andersen is 13lbs 5 oz (40%), 25 1/2" (95%) and her head is 16 1/4 (60%). She did really well with the shots today and hopefully she is not too mopey this afternoon. We were hoping that Andersen could start rice cereal, but they would like us to wait till 6 months:( Andersen is putting weight on her legs and always wants to be standing now. She also rolls over multiple times in a row and get frustrated when she rolls off her mat and can't figure out how to roll back. She is rolling over in her crib as well, so we have stopped swaddling her. It was an adjustment at first, but now she really likes the freedom of having her arms out. She loves looking at herself in the mirror and even "talks" to the reflection. She also would like to put anything and everything in her mouth - this includes fingers, fists, dresses, pacifiers, sophie, clarence etc....she always wants something in there. Her personality is really starting to come out and she just smiles and laughs all day. She loves when you sing to her and she constantly wants to see what is going on and be entertained....there is no down time. We are still working on the nap schedule, but she is a super sleeper at night - she goes down at about 6:30-7 and wakes up around 6AM...no complaints here:) Andersen is an absolute delight to be around (most of the time - haha) and we feel so blessed to have such a beautiful healthy baby girl.

We are off to Florida and North Carolina on Tuesday for 2 weeks. This will be Andersen's first flight and I'm hoping for the best. We are soooo excited to see family and friends and are counting down the days till we arrive!

3 Months!!!

Today is Andersen's 3 month birthday - hard to believe! She has really grown, in fact the other day I looked at her while she was in Bill's arms and realized she is not a newborn anymore. She looked so big and like such a little girl! Her personality is coming out more and more and for the most part is very happy. She loves music and wants you to sing to her constantly, which is hard work for me...I do not have a good voice and cannot for the life of me remember lyrics to songs. At this stage she doesn't really care too much, but her favorite so far is boom boom aint it great to be crazy, she just smiles and laughs as soon as she hears it. She is scooting her legs and trying sooo hard to move around, she gets so frustrated that she is not mobile. We brought out the bumbo seat yesterday and she really likes it! I think it is nice for her to sit on her own (or at least without us holding her). Andersen gets bored very easy these days so we are constantly on the go. She is sleeping through the night and the last couple of nights made it 10 hours - WOOHOO!! Unfortunately, her naps are not so good, and today she only napped this morning and was a terror this afternoon/evening....we are working on the nap schedule. Overall, she has had a great month and is an absolute joy to be around. We are still so amazed at her each day and as we start to get a glimpse of her personality we are excited to see what each day brings. I know I have said this before, but she is a wonderful blessing and Bill and I are thankful each and every day that we get to spend it with her:) Enjoy the latest photos!

Roll Over!!

Andersen rolled over (stomach to back) for the first time on Monday. I think she was trying to show off for Aunt Jada! We finally caught it on the video camera yesterday! She is trying hard to roll over back to stomach and is almost there - she is a strong little girl. We have had Aunt Jada and Grammy out here this week and it has been so much fun, Andersen is a good car traveler. We went to the Garden of the Gods and Estes Park and the Peak to Peak scenic byway (I'll post pictures soon). In the mean time, here's her video rolling over...enjoy!

Two Month Visit

Another month has gone by and I'm not sure where the time has gone! I must say I find it easier to update on facebook these days. We have had a busy month! Andersen started to have issues with acid reflux and is now on zantac, and a much happier baby. I had to be gluten & dairy free and limit "gas" producing foods for almost two weeks in order for them to know it was not just an allergy...let me tell you, both of us were miserable. Life is much better with me eating what I want and her on the drugs:) We have been getting out a lot more, walking at least twice a day, going to the store etc. It is nice to get out of the house! We have also joined a playgroup in our area and have gone to a few activities, it is nice to be around other moms that have babies her age. Grammie made it out for another visit as well as the Sather family. Andersen did great with the Sather's in town and was such a trooper. We went to the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, out for Mexican and up to Winter Park for the night (her first trip!) - it was the busiest we have been!

She is growing so much and we have enjoyed seeing all the changes! She can hold her head up quite well and turn it side to side while on her play mat. She smiles so much more and just laughs at you sometimes. She has found her hand and it has become a challenge to keep it out of her mouth - I am constantly pushing the pacifier in its place. She is even sleeping for extended periods during the night - anywhere from 5-7 hours between feedings! She loves her play mat and looking at all the animals and loves music. Today was her 2 month check up and all looks well. She is 10lbs 14ounces (55%), 23inches (75%) and her head is 15 3/8 (60%). She had her vaccines today and of course was not too happy - she screamed quite loud, but we are home and she is sleeping now! We go back in two months.

I must say motherhood has definitely had its challenges and up and downs so far, but every time I look at her I am truly amazed and grateful for this experience and her being in our lives. There is nothing better than a sweet baby, I am blessed!
