Happy 1/2 Birthday!

Andersen turned 6 months yesterday! I know I keep saying this, but it is really hard to believe that she is a half year old:) We are enjoying time in Florida and North Carolina this month, so we went to her 6 month appointment a little early. She weighed in at 15lbs 13 oz. (55%), 26 1/2" in height (80%) and her head was 16 3/4 (60%). We actually had to get hip x-rays because our pediatrician noticed an extra fat roll on one of her legs, but all checked out okay and the doc just said she's well fed! And she is well fed...Andersen LOVES babyfood! I am actually making my own and have had a lot of fun doing so. So far she has eaten carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, sweet peas, pears, bananas and avocados. Her favorite remains sweet potatoes & pears:) She is getting better and better at sitting up and still tries to scoot around (although she mostly gets frustrated these days) one day she'll figure out how to work the legs & arms;) Still no teeth either. I decided to post a few photos from her birth - it's amazing how much she has changed in 6 months! Hope all is well with you and yours.

Halloween

We had a great Halloween! Andersen dressed as a pumpkin - in fact it is the same costume Bill wore on his first Halloween. Andersen trick or treated at a couple of houses on our street and then went to bed at 6pm. Bill and I continued our ritual of enjoying a bottle of champagne on the porch while passing out candy. We went through 825 pieces of candy this year and had to turn away kids starting at 7:30pm. I started giving each kid 2 pieces of candy, but had to limit it to one when I realized we were flying through our supply...guess I need to increase the # of bags next year! Norlina even got into the spirit and happily wore her tutu:)

Pumpkin patch

We went to a pumpkin patch to pick out our pumpkins. It was a no frills place, but being that Andersen was only 5 months, we went for convenience over impressiveness:) Next year we'll head to the big fall festival farm where we can pick our pumpkins off the vine and get lost in the corn maze:)

Sitting Up

Andersen is working really hard on sitting up;) She still falls over - but is getting stronger and stronger every day!

Baby Food

We started baby food a few weeks ago and Andersen loves it! Her favorites so far are sweet potatoes and sweet peas! Green beans and carrots are just okay. She is a very good eater...so far:)
