We had a great Christmas! We missed spending the day with family, but it was nice to be home and not traveling. Andersen enjoyed opening presents this year and wanted to play with each toy or book she opened. With breaks, it took us over 3 hours to open presents! She also really got into the whole Santa thing and would get so excited when she saw him, she called him hohoho, it was too cute! In fact Christmas night at 2AM she woke up, sat up in bed and pointed to the sky and said hohoho, then went back to sleep...too funny! We refinished our basement and part of our Christmas present to each other was a wet bar including a kegerator which now displays Colonel Reb beer tap - Bill could not be more excited! Later in the day, we fried a turkey and had a nice meal with friends. All in all it was a great holiday!

Christmas Tree
Andersen helped us decorate the Christmas tree this year. I decided since we had already made one trip to the ER this season, I would buy plastic ornaments this year! She LOVES the Christmas tree and gets so excited to turn on the lights. So far she has been pretty good about leaving the ornaments on the tree. Here are a couple photos - as you can tell she really liked putting the ornaments in one spot:)

28 week visit
I had my 28 week visit today and all looks well. I am measuring big/a couple weeks ahead, but I had the same thing with Andersen. The baby is very active and his/her kicks are quite powerful. I'm not sure if this baby is just more active or if I can just feel the movements more this time around since it's my 2nd. I start going every 2 weeks to the doctor and will have another ultrasound at 32 weeks. We are in the process of moving Andersen into her new big girl room. The room was painted this weekend and we hope to get her furniture this week and have her sleeping in her big girl bed by the weekend. We are hoping for a smooth transition and have been talking with her a lot about the big move! She is just really excited that her room is purple (her favorite color)! As soon as we get her moved over, we'll be able to get the nursery back to it's gender neutral palette and then start getting ready for baby #2 to arrive!
Decorating & Stitches
We had our first trip to the ER with Andersen on Saturday. Andersen and I were putting up some Christmas decorations and I had literally just hung the stockings on the bronze stocking holders when Andersen decided to pull one down. It hit her square in the head and knocked her down with a nice cut on her head. She ended up needing 3 stitches and while it was traumatic for all of us (especially Bill & I) she is just fine. I'm not looking forward to Wednesday when they will removed, hopefully it will not be like when they put the stitches in...it took swaddling her & 5 of us holding her down:( Wish us luck!
Santa
I was hoping Andersen would love Santa this year, but unfortunately, she did not. All was going well, she was waving at him and pointing at him as we made our way through the line and then as soon as we were about 2 feet away the tears began. She wouldn't go near him, so I'm in the photo with her & Santa. Maybe next year!

24 weeks
Here are a couple photos from 24 weeks. I am feeling well. I had my appointment today and all looks great and on schedule. I am actually feeling better than before and only have minor complaints. Andersen went to my appointment with me today and it was really neat for her to hear the heartbeat. I know that she doesn't understand it all, but it was still a fun memory for me. She has taken to lifting my shirt and kissing the baby in mommy's belly - it is too cute - although I'm hoping she doesn't start doing it out in public! Next visit the lovely glucose test - yuck!
Carousel ride at the zoo
We went to the zoo while Mimi was still in town. It was a chilly day, so we didn't stay long, but we were able to ride the carousel. Andersen loves it and did not want it to end. I tried to upload a video, but it wouldn't work...the photos are from a bad angle:( Oh well, maybe one day I'll learn how to work blogger!
